Pasa Puchah Guthi UK (Board of Trustees) Elects New Executive Committee for 2023-2025 Tenure.

London, 10th June 2023 - Pasa Puchah Guthi UK (BOT) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Gurkha Capricorn Restaurant in Plumstead, London SE18 1PP. The event witnessed the participation of approximately 100 members from various Chapters of Pasa Puchah Guthi UK, spanning from Scotland to London. The highlight of the AGM was the unanimous selection of a brand-new Executive Committee to lead the organization from 2023 to 2025. The AGM featured several notable moments and achievements.

The AGM commenced with the lighting of lamps by the esteemed Founder Members Mr. Amrit Sthapit, Mr. Balmukund Prasad Joshi, and the President, Mr. Ojesh Singh. The event began with the rendition of the national anthem of Nepal.

During the event, General Secretaries and Presidents from different branches, namely Mr. Prajesh Shrestha (Aldershot), Mr. Ojesh Singh (London), Mr. Dibya Maharjan (Reading), and Mr. Nagendra Shrestha (SE London), presented updates on their respective branches.
In a significant milestone, the Founder Members of PPGUK, who established the organization in 2000, officially launched the PPGUK Website. The President, Mr. Ojesh Singh, and IT Coordinator, Mr. Samen Maharjan, inaugurated the website by clicking the launch button.
The AGM also recognized the invaluable contributions of 7 Founder Members, 7 Long-Serving Members, 5 Advisors, and 17 Guthi members who have tirelessly volunteered for the Guthi during numerous occasions.

A special felicitation was held for the talented playback singer, Ms. Sahima Shrestha, who mesmerized the audience with her popular hits, including "Darshan Salam" from the movie Chhakka Panja 4, and created an energetic atmosphere on the dance floor.

PPGUK aims to preserve Nepalese traditions and heritage in the UK, and as part of this effort, Dhime and Lakhe costumes were presented to the London, SE London, Aldershot, and Reading branches as a token of appreciation.

Before the selection of the new Executive Committee, President Mr. Ojesh Singh, who served as the President of PPGUK (BOT) for two tenures of two years, presented a comprehensive assessment. He highlighted the organization's accomplishments during the last tenure of 2 years,over the past 804 days, including sending 10 concentrators for COVID relief to Nepal through the Embassy of Nepal, collecting approximately £20,000 in donations from members, providing training in Dhime, Dances, Newah Lipi, and Newah language to members and youngsters, constructing two raths (chariots), and celebrating the Biska Jatra—possibly the first time outside Nepal. The Vice President, Mr. Sushil Prajapati, presented his detailed Achievements and Accomplishments report, and the Treasurer, Ms. Rajani Shrestha, presented the financial report for the previous tenure, both of which were highly praised by the audience.

Following the dissolution of the previous Executive Committee for the 2021-2023 period, the Election Committee assumed responsibility for the selection process. Led by Chief Election Officer Mr. Balmukund Joshi, Secretary Mr. Ojesh Singh, and Committee Members Mr. Amrit Sthapit, Mr. Sachetan Tuladhar, Mr. Shibaji Shrestha, and Mr. Madan Man Shrestha, the election process was conducted smoothly.

Founder Members Mr. Amrit Sthapit and Mr. Balmukund Joshi, along with Advisors Mr. Sachetan Tuladhar, Mr. Manish Shrestha, and Mr. Shibaji Shrestha, highlighted the history of PPGUK, expressed gratitude to the outgoing team for their exceptional performance, and extended their best wishes to the incoming team.

Outgoing President Mr. Ojesh Singh conveyed his best wishes to the new team, assuring them of his continued support. Incoming President Mr. Sushil Prajapati thanked the outgoing team for their outstanding work and pledged to continue their efforts to preserve our traditions and propel PPGUK forward.
